Random Canto From Youtube

Just did a random search for trying to figure out what I hear when someone is ordering takeout over the phone. Brought me to this website which was interesting.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OahQsnM_F74

Interesting was the phrase:

食咗飯未呀
sik6 zo2 faan6 mei6 aa3

Which is used for a good afternoon type greeting but literally means ‘Have you eaten (rice) yet?’. Apparently zo2 creates the past tense which I I should listen for.

不過 = but/however
(bat1 gwo3/bu2 guo4)

淨係 = Just
(zing6 hai6/jing4 xi4)

Interesting in another site I saw this page referenced: https://www.savecantonese.org/

To order takeout food was on a youtube video. Was hard to find:
叫外賣
(giu3 ngoi6 maai6/?? wai4 mai4)
